Owner, PADI Staff Instructor and certified technical diver with closed to 12 years of total teaching and diving experience. A registered professional engineer of Ontario in Canada. Love diving in various part the world and love teaching even more. Embraced the principal of “Diving is not a competition”. Love sharing my experiences with new learners or seasoned divers. My wish is to be able to dive till I am 95.
I started diving with my PADI Open Water in the summer of 2001. Moved up to PADI Dive Master in the Fall of 2006 and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in the Spring of 2009. After several hundred dives around Canada, the US and Caribbean, I became a PADI Master Instructor in the Fall of 2014. With a growing local interest in technical diving, I became a TDI Technical Instructor in the Spring of 2015. My favorite courses to teach include Open Water, Deep, Wreck, Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedure. Some of my favorite diving is in the St Lawrence Seaway, British Columbia and Southern Florida.
Started Diving 1973 now a PADI Master Instructor teaching many specialties, and enjoys getting under the water. Also a technical and sidemount diver, with a passion for wrecks and revel in Florida from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West. Goals in life: to keep learning and to see with my own eyes what few other humans have.
Matt began diving his adventure in scuba diving in 2010 with a PADI Open Water Diver course. Out of the water Matt is a career and volunteer Firefighter, Acting Captain, on-shift instructor (Hazardous Materials Operations), and Training Officer. When he isn’t diving or working, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. Matt is a PADI Dive Master.
Samantha had her first experience diving at 12 years old and got her PADI open water certification when she turned 18. Since then, Samantha has completed over 480 dives in a variety of environments including: wrecks, caverns, pelagic drifting, soft bottoms, walls, reefs, boat and shore dives. She has been a part of the MDC crew since 2014 when she started her Divemaster training, which she later completed in May 2015. While completing her Divemaster training, Samantha was also employed by Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada as an aquarium diver getting to dive with sharks, stingrays, sawfish and goliath groupers… If you take a walk past the aquarium you may just see her face pop up on the big screen outside.
Currently, Samantha is a bit far from Ontario and currently resides in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador where she is pursuing her Masters in Marine Biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland and working as a Scientific Diver with the university. In her spare time she also volunteers as a Scientific Diver with the Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium, a non-profit catch and release aquarium in Newfoundland. Although she considers herself much more graceful underwater, when she’s not making bubbles Samantha can be found exploring the outdoors and enjoying any new adventure she can find. If you’re ever out in Newfoundland and looking for a dive buddy she’s the one to call! If you want to follow her adventures you can find her at the following links:
I started diving in 2011, and fell in love with it instantly. I earned my Divemaster rating in 2014. Next step in the diving world for me is my tech diver qualification. I enjoy all kinds of dives in all kinds of conditions with all types of people. I live in a small community around lake Simcoe with my family. The MDC pro staff is truly second to none.
